Our mission is to enable our customers to save more lives by providing them access to life-saving equipment and training, including AEDs and related supplies, compliance services, first aid and CPR/AED training. Nearly 20 years ago, emergency physicians L. Tad Cowley, MD and J. Thomas Alquist, MD were troubled by the number of people they were seeing in the ER, dying from Sudden Cardiac Arrest. They wanted to do more to help increase survival rates. So, in 2001, they joined forces with two experienced businessmen in Rick Johnson, MBA and Craig Rasmussen, CPA and founded Stat PADS – a company dedicated to providing businesses with the resources they need to create and maintain effective AED programs.

Stat PADS has served thousands of customers over the years and we carefully track each and every save among our customer base. Our greatest source of pride is the fact that more than 70% of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) victims treated by our customers have survived! That is more than 10 times the national average for SCA victims who do not get treated with an AED. It is also a testament to the importance of having a well-managed AED program. Simply buying the AED isn’t enough.
